Hello Everyone, I just called the Carlsbad 5k organizers to check on who has registered for the team. So far, officially 3 people have paid; myself and two others. We only have until March to register, and come race day if we do not have a full team of 10, we will not be eligible to participate. NO REFUNDS. I am just concerned because I am unsure of how many people are still interested in participating, please make contact with me about the situation. If you have changed your mind, please just let me know. No one will be upset with you. I just want to make sure that we can get 10 people together. The practices are not mandatory, you just have to be sure you are ready to walk or run come race day. Again, I hate to keep nagging, but if you signed up there is a team that is counting on you for participation. Please just communicate with me about what your situation is and please make sure that if you are going to participate that you register and pay by the end of this week. If you call their customer support, they are super nice. I talked to the lady in charge of registration to ask about the team sign ups. I forgot her name. :/ 

I will give her a call tomorrow if they are open and see if I can so that will give you one more person :)

I resigned as team leader. I paid, but I won't be participating. It was becoming too much of a burden on me with school and everything to be recruiting team members, we still don't have 10. So, I have no idea what is going on now.

I hate flakers. yes frustrating. lol I didn't flake I got stuck working. But I can see about letting the people that did sign up switch to "my" team so they don't waste their money.

so they don't waste their money.  They can still participate, just not as a team. I was/ am super annoyed because 11 or 12 people signed up, then only about 4 or 5 followed through from the initial sign up and we all paid. Then I had to bump threads repeatedly and I got 2 more, but still not a full 10. It's really irritating. People sign up, then don't pay and I never hear from them again so they put the people that did pay in a bad situation. They had a responsibility to the team, and bailed. I would still participate, but like I said... I just don't have the time to be hunting down team members with school going on and everything. I just wish people would keep their word, but I guess since we don't live in a perfect world, I shouldn't have expected that. 

Oh I know you, cc and vic didn't flake. Just the people who were signed up and didn't even have the common courtesy to tell her they didn't want to do it.
