we are heading to camp pendelton the spouse will be with 1/5 rank gysgt. we have a dog 2 kids. does anyone know the area we will go or waiting list or anything. We are currently in Okinawa Japan, never been to Cali. Just trying to find out whatever I can 

My hubby was with 1/5 a couple years ago. They are stationed at camp Matteo on the North side of the base. (This base is HUGE) We lived up in the San Onofre housing area near San Clemente. This is the closest housing to where he will work. If you choose to live on base, I HIGHLY recommend you live there and not in the houses on the south side because of the commute time he would have.
Lincoln Military Housing is the Company that runs the housing up there, and you qualify for San Onofre I with his rank.

Good luck. We love it here (we are back at CP, but with a different unit). We loved Oki too, you will find the weather pretty comparable but just not as warm in the Summers if you stay near the coast. 

We live in San Onofre 1 and are also with 1/5 :) the neighborhood is super close to work , close to the interstate, with a great view of san clemente and the ocean..( from a far) its pretty quiet so far!! (We have only been here a week) we love it!
